Alexander Behnaz, MD, NP, is a dual-boarded interventional pain specialist and physiatrist. Dr. Behnaz brings advanced expertise and experience from his previous practice at a major orthopedics group in the DMV. He looks forward to serving patients in Falls Church, Alexandria, and throughout Northern Virginia at Integrated Spine and Pain Services.
Driven by a deep understanding of the profound impact of pain on patients’ daily lives, Dr. Behnaz finds the study of pain to be a fascinating and essential field. Through his experience and fellowship training, he gained extensive expertise in utilizing advanced techniques to alleviate pain and enhance patients’ quality of life. He emphasizes improving patients’ pain and function, adopting a multimodal, whole-patient approach to ensure accurate diagnosis, tailored treatment, and compassionate care.
Dr. Behnaz completed his fellowship training in Interventional Pain at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Dr. Behnaz completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Sentara Norfolk General and Portsmouth Naval Hospital, where he honed his skills in diagnosing and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal and neurologic conditions. Prior to that, he worked at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
In his spare time, Dr. Behnaz enjoys cycling, long-form improv, and traveling.
